Life can be busy, and managing stress while staying focused is often a challenge. Over time, many of us become accustomed to this pressure. Some people learn to ignore it, while others carry anxiety, frustration, or stress throughout their daily lives.

Life In General
After nine years of mentoring musicians, I have seen many artists experience a noticeable shift after completing a track, performing confidently, or releasing their music. The sense of achievement and expression that follows is often irreplaceable.
We experience life in various ways, pursuing different studies and careers, to find the passion that can help us establish our foundation. Some people find it earlier than others, but the point is always trying to look for the call. We may have already heard that.
Productive Creativity
However, the value of productive creativity is priceless, which I'd like to relate to music. While listening to music has many benefits of its own, actively creating music can offer something different. The process of learning, practising, creating, and performing can positively influence many areas of daily life.
Music productivity can relate to any creative process with a tangible outcome, physically or emotionally. This process sometimes needs hours of learning and understanding, practising and crafting to produce that piece of artwork, including making an original song, remixing a track or performing a cover song; it all counts. Whether you enjoy singing, playing piano, guitar, songwriting, or music production, these benefits can be experienced by musicians of all ages and skill levels. So without any further ado, let's take a look at the five benefits we can get from creative productivity in our daily lives:
Relaxation
Everyone knows that chilled music can help us feel relaxed, even for non-musicians. Although crafting and practising has it own frustrations, the result of creative productivity can help us release stress. Think about performing that piece of music on the piano, or singing a tune while playing with the guitar, or listening to the track you are just about to release. They can help reduce stress, create a sense of achievement, and encourage a more relaxed state of mind, which makes us feel we have achieved something tangible, which also sounds cheerful. That is a double reward. Although the learning or crafting process can often be frustrating due to its technicality or anything that might come in the way, the journey takes us to the final result of fulfilment.
The creative productivity, especially in music, can help us reduce anxiety by putting some time every day, or even a few hours every week, into the craft.
Developing New Ways of Thinking
We grow up while shaping around our experiences, and others' influences who are closer to us and we spend time with. What we experience becomes in our control from a young age (excluding the unfortunate exceptions), meaning we get to choose our habits, studies, pathways, careers, our relationships and therefore lifestyle. Sometimes the lifestyle shapes us without noticing it, while creative productivity can help us take a step back, evaluate ourselves, and perhaps reconnect with our mind and body.
As they say, it takes courage and patience to get to this point. But once we tap into this level, we may look at the world in a different way. We may change our life course, and perhaps improve our ways of thinking. We may experience this while writing a song about the world around us, about a cause, or even just telling a story. It can be felt while we are polishing the performance of our favourite song on our instrument. Consistent creative practice can take us on a journey of personal growth that often influences other areas of life as well. What comes after this stage is more mindfull and and our choices become more decisive. Some may need to change their habit and use this as an exit strategy and invest in finding a new practice.
Inspiration
For those who want to even evolve more towards their true selves, getting inspired comes next. When our mind becomes relaxed and open its easier to get inspired by anything around us. Writing songs becomes easier, and we enjoy spending more time playing various tunes from our favourite artists.
Inspiration often begins when we allow ourselves to imagine possibilities that previously seemed out of reach. We just needed to be patient and consistent. There are so many platforms and places around us where we can be inspired from; music live events, TV shows and related documentaries, or on the other hand, getting inspired by what's going around us in various scales to be able to write and make a tune about it.
The path to creativity is limitless; there is always a way to discover something new that shifts our drives towards it. Many of those threats help us to build new ideas, and this is while our brain is rewiring and experiencing new feelings and making connections. But we need to connect to the outside world as well.
Social Connection
Connecting with others is a constructive way to understand ourselves and the world around us. Sharing our ideas, hearing other opinions and discussing creative and productive topics help us to develop our thoughts on life and ourselves.
There are some groups of music artists who prefer to stay anonymous with music identity, like 'ghost producers' and the individuals who play music only as a small hobby, and that's fair enough. Otherwise, the majority of creative artists and musicians enjoy sharing their music and are open to talking about their craft, experiences and music ideologies.
There are so many platforms, exhibitions, events and places where musicians can meet others, including music events to see other artists and the crowd to socialise, or when playing, sharing their music with others, like open mics or paid performances.
Socialising doesn't limit only to music events. This expands to any social places to show up and enjoy what's out there, and make connections. Creative productivity gives the confidence boost to artists to become more extroverted if they wish to socialise more openly. Remember that creativity is not only about music, but we dedicate this blog to that category.
Emotional Awareness
The last stage before going back to the next loop of evolvement in this process is understanding all our emotions and also our physical abilities. Emotional awareness and confidence often grow throughout this process. Performing in front of a live audience, receiving feedback instantly, evaluating the experience and applying it to our practice will give us the emotional awareness. There are so many other similar ways to achieve this when we are involved with creative productivity at this stage.
The confidence gained from this experience supports us in building better self-esteem in doing what we love to do in life. Sometimes it's a career choice to do music, sometimes it's a dedicated practical hobby on the side.
